Press ReleasesPRESS RELEASE The 23rd Jewish Music Festival presents TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 2008 at 7:30 PM Tix and Info: www.jewishmusicfestival.org or 1-800-838-3006 The Jewish Music Festival presents LADDER OF GOLD with Teslim (Tes-LEEM) featuring violinist Kaila Flexer and Gari Hegedus on (mostly plucked) strings including Turkish saz, oud, Greek lauoto and hand drums. This potent duo will perform original and Sephardic music featured on their new CD. The evening's special guests will include v iolinists Julian Smedley, Shira Kammen, Leah Wollenberg, harpist Liza Wallace and percussionist Tobias Roberson. You may know Kaila Flexer as the founder of Klezmer Mania! and the leader of such ground-breaking bands as Third Ear and Next Village . This event marks her first CD release in over eight years. Gari Hegedus plays with Stellamara and Hamed Nikpay and has recorded and performed with Ross Daly. Teslim means both 'commit' and 'surrender' in Turkish.
