Kaila and Gary Teslim (tes-LEEM) is a Turkish word that means both “commit” and “surrender.” It is also a musical term for a recurring theme in Turkish music. For us the recurring theme is that the trust we have in one another musically has allowed us to both commit and surrender to our own individual voices, hopefully creating something larger than either of us.

Our friend Aleksandra Radonic is an incredible photographer. Though she lives in Serbia and we live in the U.S., we met as admirers of each other’s work over the internet and have been emailing one another for two years now. Her work is astonishing, profound, magical and painterly. She has an incredible sense of drama and composition. Here’s a link to her Flickr page.  Her work is quite unusual. She’s a stunning artist and a very talented and intelligent young woman. Did I mention that she also happens to be gorgeous? How is this possible?

She created a montage of some of her photos and it’s accompanied by a Teslim song—Stone’s Throw (for Carla).
